Friday night June 29th – All day Saturday June 30th 2018
Disciple making is at the heart of the mission of the church. But there is no one formula or silver bullet to making disciples. On the evening of June 29 and through the day of June 30 2018, we will be hosting Edmund and Ann Chan, the leaders of the international movement, Global Alliance of Intentional Disciple Making churches.
You may remember that Edmund and Ann joined QB for our annual convention in 2015, and their teaching and encouragement was very well received. They have kindly agreed to share at this gathering in Brisbane on the Friday evening and Saturday prior to the QB Convention in Cairns, for those who may not be able to make the trip north.
The Training Collaborative is hosting this conference on behalf of QB. The conference is for pastors and leaders in churches involved in discipleship. We would encourage you to bring a team from your church.
We will be exploring what discipleship looks like and how we can be more effective in guiding people on their discipleship journey For a taste of Edmund’s teaching check out the video below.
The Rev Edmund Chan is the Leadership Mentor of Covenenant Evangelical Free Church in Singapore, and the founder of the Global Alliance of Intentional Disciplemaking Churches. For over two decades he has been well known, locally and overseas, for his expository preaching and his mentoring of Christian leaders.
Graduating from the Singapore Bible College, he became pastor of a small church which has grown from 79 people to over 5,000. His books, including ‘Mentoring Paradigms’ and ‘Growing Deep in God’ are well received.
In 2003, he completed his two-year Masters of Arts studies in under nine months, and graduated summa cum laude at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, USA.
He has been married for over thirty years to Ann, and they have two daughters, Amanda and Belicia.
Pastor Ann Chan ministers actively alongside her husband, Rev Edmund Chan, Leadership Mentor of Covenant Evangelical Free Church, championing the Intentional Disciple-Making Churches (IDMC) vision around the world together.
A gifted leader and teacher, she has pioneered many of Covenant EFC’s ministries, including the Women-in-Covenant (WiC) ministry. As part of the WiC ministry, she gave a series of talks over two years called “The Godly Woman”. They were very well-received. Many women have also been ministered by her through the Breakthrough Weekends. No stranger to pain and suffering, she is an empathetic and wise counsellor who co-wrote the Wholeness in Christ material with several other women. It has benefitted many who desire wholeness and healing in their lives.
