‘A few years ago, Sue and I decided to attend the annual Convention at the Church of Rev. Edmund Chan in Singapore. We were en route to Thailand where we would meet the missions team a week later. We were looking forward to a break and a time of refreshment. We certainly had that – we were refreshed and encouraged as we sat under the God-inspired teaching of Ps. Chan. This humble, delightful, man is so blessed by God to speak, write books, grow churches with intentional discipleship at the heart.
‘Both he and wife, Ann, are approachable, wonderful people. They are both gifted speakers and in great demand around the world, hence it was 3 years in the waiting for them to be able to come to us for 2015 Convention. The practical teaching we received was invaluable, and although we implement some of these principles in our church, we were inspired to use more. All are based on Scripture. The proof is in the pudding, so they say, with three campuses around Singapore and more in the future, with thousands in each congregation, most involved in evangelism and discipleship-making. The churches send people out to the mission field and their young people are encouraged to do short-term mission.
‘We would encourage all our churches to come and hear this great man of God at Convention this year, read his books and use the study guide he has written titled Roots and Wings.’
